Unalaska
Located in the Aleutian Islands in southwestern Alaska, Unalaska sits on two islands – Amaknak and Unalaska – connected by a bridge. The area was first inhabited by Unangan people, then Russian fur traders. Unalaska’s port, Dutch Harbor, was an important crab fishing center, and commercial fishing and fish processing are still important economic activities. Unalaska is served by scheduled flights as well as a ferry from Kodiak twice a month from April to October.
