Eagle River

Eagle River, Alaska, population 22,000, lies north east of Anchorage on the Glenn Highway, along the Eagle River from which the community’s name comes. Eagle River was incorporated into the Municipality of Anchorage in 1975, although a secession effort has recently been mounted by residents.  Fort Richardson and Elmendorf Air Force Base are close by and many personnel from the bases live in Eagle River.
